Venice Yacht Club Charitable Foundation

Greetings! Here we are in the dog days of summer with a warm September just around the corner! Last month a tutorial was presented on how to give smartly for those who wish to do so. It must have hit home with many. We are having a banner year. Thanks to your generosity, we have already received donations of $116,132 for this year. Our sincerest gratitude goes out to you.

A comedy club event was held on June 24, starring Juanita Lolita. She entertained us after a scrumptious buffet dinner prepared and served by Chef Josh and his staff. Juanita kept us laughing for well over an hour with her family and daily living humor. At times she involved audience members in her friendly banter. Everyone agreed the evening was a huge success due to her, our sponsors and supporters who donated $6,100. Checks were presented to Family Haven and Child Protection Center in the amounts of $5,000 each, prior to the show. Representatives from each agency also shared stories of the fine work they do!

The homeless Veterans Stand Down program was held on June 26 in Sarasota, where we had a cadre of volunteers from VYC assisting for the morning. We will also present a $5,000 grant to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation in August. This grant will help them provide college scholarships for the children of Special Operations Warriors who gave their lives serving our country.
