With Gratitude at the Holidays!

I want to thank all of you for your support of our VYC Charitable Foundation Committee and our N-VEST program for 2018. We finished our year with a strong October in donations and results from our Auction Event. We received approximately $32,000 from the Auction. Combined with our other sponsor/donor income since April, we have donated an additional $52,700 in grants this fall. Our total gifting for 2018 is $102,948, bringing our VYCCF “inception to date” grants to our community to $542,494.

It has been a joy to receive the letters of gratitude from the charities and causes we have supported. Each note to us references the same theme: that with each grant, lives are changed and hope is restored, one day…one life at a time.

Our committee will soon unveil its strategy and plan for 2019. We are currently seeking a new Chairperson to guide our work and events going forward. So, SAVE THE DATES: Please mark your 2019 calendars now for our Donor/Sponsor Appreciation Evening on Thursday, January 24, and our 2nd Annual Bike Ride Benefit on Sunday, February 24. Registration forms are available now.

It has been wonderful to represent our Foundation Committee as your Vice-Chair in 2017 and Chair in 2018. Babs and I were blessed with your caring support and we were also lucky enough to work with so many dedicated people on our Foundation Committee and amazing professionals at the charities in our community!

As we contemplate the joy, excitement and the rush of the holiday season, let’s take a moment now to plan some quiet time. Plan to find ways to think of friends, add thoughtful notes to holiday cards, hold someone’s hand, cherish those you love. And by all means listen to your own heart and experience a moment of peace. Then share what you find and celebrate the spirit of the season by giving your best to someone who needs you.
