Looking Forward to Giving Back

As I write this article, we are putting the final plans in place for the VYCCF Blues Bistro Night. In just two short years it has become one of our most popular summer events, offering great music and providing a fun opportunity to grow our Foundation’s 2018 General Fund. I am confident that August 2nd (under the leadership of Sylvia Hollister and Ann Van Cott) will set the bar even higher in our commitment to “charting a course to a better community.”

The vision of our VYC Board, in creating the Foundation, was to leverage the goodwill of our members and demonstrate that we are an integral part of a caring community. Their desire was to look forward to giving back and to “N-VEST” in creating opportunities for children, families and veterans at risk. These are the key footings of our 2018 Signature Project: Nutrition, Veterans, Education and ShelTer.

Soon, we will set our sights on October 13, when we will host our VYCCF Comedy Club Auction Night. On that evening we will offer a Silent Auction, a Restaurant Tree, a Wine Grab, and a Live Auction hosted by Les McCurdy & Ken Sons of the McCurdy Comedy Club. Come to enjoy our Club and our fellowship; with a wonderful mix of fun, food and caring, we can complete our year of giving. Our Fall Grant Cycle will culminate with Grants announced on November 1. Given that timing, you can see how key our Blues Night, our Auction Evening, and those of you who make year-end gifts will be to our full year grants. Our committee is so grateful for your support and we are committed to fulfill our promise that every grant will meet the criteria of our mission. The goal is in sight! Let’s celebrate 2018 with a re-commitment to Looking Forward to Giving Back.
