THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT

We are making an impact in our community with your support. In October, we were overwhelmed by receiving 28 grant applications requesting over $102,000 in support for very worthwhile causes. Unfortunately, the requests were beyond our capabilities to satisfy completely. Nonetheless, we did very well by granting over $45,000 to 19 organizations in the fall 2016 grant cycle.

With your help, the total amount granted to organizations in our community in 2016 was $90,000. Since our inception, we have granted a total of $330,000. The fall 2016 grantees include: Signature Project Grants: All Faiths Food Bank Eat This Bus, SKY Family YMCA YReads Program, Library Foundation of Sarasota County Imagination Library Program, and the Reading Recovery Program.

Veterans & Active Military Grants: Operation Military Assistance (JFCS), State College of Florida Foundation (Venice Campus Veterans Service Center), VFW Post 8118, Venice High School ROTC Program, and Southeast Guide Dogs Veterans Assistance Dog Program. Other Grants: Venice Youth Boating Association, Interfaith Outreach, Our Mother’s House, Family Haven of Catholic Charities, Children First, InStride Therapy, Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center, South Bay Watch, Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Venice Boat Parade. We are looking forward to 2017 as we expand our Signature Project to include helping homeless children and their families. With the security of a permanent roof over head, help with proper nutrition and improved reading skills, those children we help through our grants will indeed have a brighter future.
