Our FEED THE HUNGER - FEED THE MIND Auction Benefit is on October 15. We have reached $65,000 of our $100,000 fundraising goal for the year ending November 1. Your participation in this event will allow us to continue the good work we do as we chart our course to a better community.

The event will be a fun, action-packed evening. The Nothin' But Trouble band has donated their services for your listening and dancing enjoyment. They were a raving success at the 2013 Sprout auction benefit.

Chef Josh has prepared a special menu reflecting the spirit of our Signature Project focused on childhood hunger and childhood literacy.

We received over 120 wonderful auction items and we are working tirelessly to bring you more. Auctioneer Extraordinaire, Commodore Jim DeNiro, will lead you through some exciting live auction items. You may bid on beautiful jewelry or a watch. You might want one of our dinners for a crowd at Bonefish Grill or Fins at Sharky’s or a wine tasting for 20 of your friends at Total Wine. Perhaps you might take friends to a Tampa Bay Bucs game or spend an evening in a luxurious Sarasota condo combined with some of our silent auction entertainment options. Or maybe you want Tiki John and Katie to bartend your party for up to 100 friends or Chef Josh to prepare a gourmet meal at your home for 12. You might fancy a cruise on a member’s sailboat, or a day rental on a Freedom Boat Club. There is so much for you to choose that you won’t want to put your hand down as Commodore DeNiro leads the auction.

Our silent auction has many items to pique your interest. There will be many entertainment options from the Venice Theatre, the Sarasota Opera, the Sarasota Ballet, the Florida Studio Theatre, the Ringling Museum and the Venice Symphony. Dining options galore will be present with gift certificates from Abby’s Restaurant, Allegro Bistro, Café Venice, DeFina’s, Fleming’s Steakhouse, Mi Pueblo, Too Jays and Ruth Chris. There will be jewelry and art work, plus gift baskets from Venice Wine & Coffee and Morton’s, paintings by Laura Caccia and Sir John & Suzie Seerey-Lester, sunglasses from Eyes on You, and so much more.

Please organize your table and call the Club to make your reservations for a fun evening. And you may charge all your auction winnings to your member account. Cash and checks also will be accepted. We hope to see you on October 15.
