In addition to the above grants, the Committee awarded $1,000 to the Venice Christmas Boat Parade out of the $5,000 Venice Community Support Fund.
The Foundation’s spending policy is to award grants in the amount of 80% of the donations received in the grant cycle. The Foundation’s spending policy provides that grants will be given in support of the broad categories of (1) youth boating, (2) health and education, (3) veterans and active military, (4) the environment, and (5) civic improvement.
We are getting a very good response to our annual appeal flyer sent out with the November dues statement. Thank you for your support. The Foundation Committee will have funds to work with next year to help support the local charities which fit our spending guidelines.
My term as Chairman of the Foundation Committee ended on December 31. I want to thank Commodore Melinda Short and the members of my Committee for making this a pleasant and productive experience.
