Venice Yacht Club Charitable Foundation

Thank you to our many generous VYC members, listed here, who have donated over $36,000 to our VYCCF since the beginning of our 2016 fiscal year. Those donors who contribute more than $100 are members of our Captains Circle. If you see members wearing Captains Circle pins, please thank them for supporting our mission to do the most good for the most people at risk by supporting and enhancing the cumulative goodwill of the VYC membership to service the needs of our community.

April will be a busy month for the VYCCF. On April 1, we close our spring grant cycle and will award more than $31,000 to worthwhile non-profit organizations in our local community. On April 14, we honor all our past and current donors with a Donor Recognition Event. If you are a donor, please confirm your attendance to the Club reception desk. Finally, on April 20, we will lead a group of VYC member volunteers for a morning of sorting food at All Faiths Food Bank. This will be a very rewarding experience. Recently, VYCCF Committee members Michael Nemser, Joan Bowen, Kevin Collins, and P/C Joe Dombrowski visited with Kevin Kenney of Operation Second Chance (OSC). OSC supports combat wounded, injured, or ill veterans by providing them opportunities to get away from hospitals and doctors’ appointments to help them in recovering from their injuries and daily stresses. Through outdoor activities, these veterans are able to improve their quality of life, reconnect with other veterans, and work towards a better tomorrow. The contacts they make are a lasting source of support and inspiration.
