From VYC Currents - October 2022

We are venturing into October and looking back at summertime where the giving was easy. Thanks to all of you! As mentioned last month, a $5000 grant was given to Loveland Center. Patrick Guerin, CEO, and Jennifer Bushinger, VP of Philanthropy, were on hand to greet and thank the VYCCF Ambassador to Loveland Center, Barbara Price and other committee members. Some of the residents were also there for the photo op!

The Marine Corps Junior ROTC Obstacle Course is completed! VYCCF has been a major contributor to this project since its inception.The physically challenging course will be open to all at Venice High School!

In mid-September, a $5000 grant was given to Children First at one of their Venice locations. Philip Tavill, CEO, and Jessica Rogers, VP of Philanthropy, were present along with some of our committee members and Children First Ambassador Noni Lavelle. This fine organization impacts and supports not only children, but mothers dealing with postpartum depression. It also sponsors support sessions for parents.|

nother grant recipient last month was the Venice Fire Department Benevolent Fund. With the $2500 grant, they provide some assistance to the needy in our community. This will be our second year giving to them! We will also be granting $5000 to the Venice Police Department’s Blue Santa Shop with a Cop Program on Nov. 3..

lease mark your calendars for the Annual Donor Appreciation Evening on Thursday, Nov. 3. We will be celebrating donations/giving of $1,000,000 from the VYCCF's inception through Oct. 31, 2022, the end of our fiscal year! WOW! Just think - we started with just a seed of an idea!! Look for an article in the “Venice Lifestyles” magazine this fall highlighting the VYCCF’s history and its charitable good works..
