Fellow Members,
Our next grant cycle for the Venice Yacht Club Charitable Foundation ends on November 1. Our Committee will be meeting in November to decide how to allocate funds for the grant applications received on or before November 1. The status of our accounts as of June 30 is as follows:
Florida Shores $2,392.68
Gulf Coast Endowment $80,284.43
Gulf Coast Fund $20,378.35
Total $103,055.46

We are looking forward to seeing the improvements to the Venice Performing Arts Center Box Office for the grant we made in June.

Judy Wilcox, Jack Murphy, Joe Miller, and P/C Tony Zumbano have resigned from the Foundation Committee. Commodore Melinda Short has appointed V/C Jim DeNiro to be the Board of Director Representative. I will be working with the Commodore to enlist some new members. Please let me know if you are interested.

Our Foundation’s spending policy is to award grants in the amount of 80% of the donations received in the grant cycle. The Foundation’s spending policy provides that grants will be given in support of the broad categories of (1) youth boating, (2) health and education, (3) veterans and active military, (4) the environment, and (5) civic improvement.
