SAVE THE DATE! August 23 at 4:00 p.m. Tea, soda, nibbles, cash bar. An educational and friend-raising event brought to you by your VYC Charitable Foundation. Open to all… donors, all VYC members, their friends and guests, and especially new VYC members, as well as members of the local community who are interested in learning more about both VYC and its Charitable Foundation. Please help us spread the word.

Here’s the fun part... FIRST, several local sports notables, whose names you will recognize, will be here to talk about the joys of victory and the agonies of defeat! This panel discussion will enliven and delight you. Sports fans and the uninitiated alike will be entertained by this program.

In addition, we will be joined by folks who received grants in the Spring grant cycle, 2012. Listen to them as they tell us what such grants mean to them and how they have put your charitable dollars to work.

The next meeting of the VYCCF Committee occurs August 4 when we will be preparing to ramp up for the Fall grant cycle with a November 1 application deadline.

VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
At the suggestion of the VYCCF, the Board of Directors of the Venice Yacht Club has agreed to have its accountants include the Charitable Foundation in the annual audit of the Club for this fiscal year. We feel this is an important step toward assuring our members that we are accountable to you, that the best business practices are utilized by the Club in all of its affairs, including the foundation, and it will insure that your foundation has credibility with current and future donors. We strive to educate our members about the good works of your foundation.
